About us
Rising novelist or piercing essayist, established writer or experimentalist, we are an online guild of young writers between the ages of 13 to 17 who are looking to amplify their creative work through collaboration, learning, and feedback.
We meet weekly to discuss both our personal projects and works created in our workshops. Together, we expand our understanding of the world as writers and encourage the ruthless pursuit of our craft. Every 4 months, we produce an anthology of our creative progress, centred around a theme.

Anthology
A legacy of creative growth
Twice a year, we publish an anthology consisting of our best works. Each anthology follows a theme, that we explore in-depth through prompts and discussion. The anthology is our legacy; the archive of everything we have learned, done, and created during the term.
Blog
A platform of expression
Our writers regularly contribute to our blog. This is where you can find interviews, essays, poetry, and fiction by our writers. The blog is where we document our progress and creative journey, where our most vulnerable and daring ideas are found.
Interviews
Learning from various perspectives
We host multiple interviews a year with esteemed writers and poets, and significant figures in the global literary scene. All of our interviews can be found on our Instagram page, our blog, and our anthologies. Through the words of others, we deepen our own understanding of the writer's craft.

Founder & Director
My name is Cat, and I'm a student and writer based in Toronto. I am currently in high school and enrolled in Writopia's Creative Portfolio Program, and the Young Voices Teen Council at the Toronto Public Library. My work was published in Young Voices Magazine 2024. To me, writing is an expression of power. It bends expectations, shifts realities, and if well done, can alter perspectives. As director of The Creative Coterie, I hope to foster a community of encouragement and creativity that helps young writers find their power.
