Submissions
We are pleased to announce that submissions are open for our first in-person publication: Issue 02, Project Metamorphosis: Nurturing the Voices of Tomorrow! Supported by the Frontlines Race to An Inclusive Canada Microgrant, the publication welcomes all individuals aged 13-18 in Canada to submit poetry, prose (fiction & non-fiction), and all forms of visual art!

Extended Deadline:
August 10th, 2026, 11:59 PM
Prompt:
In order to grow as individuals and as a community, we require deep, all-encompassing change. Oftentimes, this can become an artform in and of itself; a transformation that creates something beautiful, like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. With Project Metamorphosis, we prompt writers and visual artists aged 13-18 to explore how the process of change is significant to them and their communities. How does metamorphosis present itself in our lives? In what ways does change alienate us from the past, and how do we come to terms with it? How can we use this knowledge for the better good?
Eligibility:
All teens aged 13-18 in Canada. BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals are especially encouraged to submit.
Guidelines:
Fiction: 2000 words MAX
Non-fiction (Including personal essays, academic essays, reviews, interviews, etc.): 2000 words MAX
Poetry: 2 pages max
Visual Art (Including photography, paintings, drawings, collage, digital art, comics, and hybrid artforms): Upload in JPG, JPEG, or PNG
Simultaneous submissions are accepted. However, please submit in a separate response.
All submissions must be original and human-made. Previously published work is acceptable as long as you disclose where and when it was published. The Creative Coterie does not support work created with the use of artificial intelligence of any kind.
